Button Monogram

This year for Christmas I want to make a lot of my gifts. I came across a button monogram on Pinterest and knew that would be perfect for my two nieces. Yes I know, Christmas is 5 months away but if I plan on making things, I want plenty of time!

Below are my supplies:

Assorted buttons (the pack I purchased happened to include the paper flowers)
Assorted brads
Paper piercer
Cardstock (any color)
Letters (printed from your cpu)

Because I am horrible at drawing, I printed the monogram from my computer -- I used Helvetica, size 700:

Trace the letters onto the cardstock:

To get an idea of placement I played around with the buttons first. After that you can move your buttons to the side and then line the letter w/ adhesive:

Once you have your monogram filled w/ buttons then you can fill in the blank spots w/ brads:

And here is the button monogram in a white frame:
L=Lilly -- She is almost 10 months old and a beautiful, happy baby!

P=Priya -- A sweet, energetic 3 year old -- going on 16!

I am so excited to give these!!

A bathroom can be cute!

Our bathroom isn't big by no means, but that doesn't mean I can't make it look cute. We do have a 1/2 bath in our room so that makes getting ready a lot better.

So now you have been on a tour of our whole house -- it only took 7 months :)

Bedroom + Branch

I've been forever posting pictures of our bedroom because I didn't know what to hang on the walls! Well if you saw my last post (click here) I found inspiration! Below is the process:

Tree = $0
Brackets = less than $3
Ribbon = Around $3
The picture frames were the most expensive part. I don't have many frames, especially 8x10's so they were $9 each.

I'm very thankful for a husband who will help me complete projects and never complains. Without him, most of them would remain incomplete :)

Almost complete!
(please ignore the unmade bed)

And it's done!

And here is the rest of our bedroom:

The door leads to a 1/2 bath.

And our bedroom is complete! I was curious to see other projects using branches and found these:

This at an entry way:

Above your kitchen table:

To hang your jewelry:

A candle holder on your mantle:
So go and get branch happy!

I've Been Inspired. . .

So this isn't our bedroom but I LOVE what they did above the bed (thank you pinterest!). I always struggle with what to put on my walls and this is super unique and earthy (which is the theme of our bedroom). Another plus is our backyard leads to woods so it should be easy to find a branch :)

Stay tuned!

Vacation Recap

This is a recap of our week vacation in Florida.

We went on an airboat ride through the Everglades and saw lots of gators!

We stopped at Cocoa Beach and saw manatees as we ate dinner:

We spent the majority of the week in Miami.

Miami at night:

Spent two great days on South Beach and got burned.

We ended the week in Key West and celebrated 5 married years together!

Us at the southern most point in the U.S.:

We went snorkeling while in Key West.
Definitely a great experience and we both recommend this if you haven't!

Off we go!

Us on Fort Zach Beach

We LOVED South Florida and now we know why people move/retire there! It was great getting away from the mountains and spend time just relaxing with each other, soaking up the sun, and experiencing new things -- snorkeling was definitely a highlight, we saw lots of colorful fish and several barracudas! We love traveling to new places and can't wait to plan our next trip!
