A quick family pic on Christmas Eve before all the festivities :)

Jonathon loved our gift.

Mom opening her gifts.

We waited until Christmas morning to open our gifts. Joseph was very happy that Mumford's latest album was in his stocking

Joseph's other gifts -- mom and dad gave him his 1st pair of Toms!

And my gifts...Joseph did a great job on my red Jessica Simpson peacoat, this was a complete surprise! I also can't wait to experiment with pictures using my new photo editing software, Lightroom!

Today we did nothing -- it was rainy and blustery, so we stayed inside. We played Qwirkle (like dominoes but with shapes and colors) and drank hot chocolate. Lots of quality time :)

Joe and I have the whole week off (even though I can't believe it's already Thursday!) and plan to enjoy every day that is left! Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Presents {check!}

It's always a great feeling when all the presents are wrapped and under the tree! This year I went with brown paper and green and red yard. I'm obsessed with how they turned out!

I love these green and red yarn poms. There were so many tutorials on Pinterest and when I first started seeing all DIY pom pins, I knew thats what I was doing for Christmas. I also picked up a pack of cream colored tags at A.C. Moore and stamped on each name.

Each gift took a little longer than usual but it was so worth it. After all, you spend good money on the gift inside why not make the outside just as beautiful!

Merry Christmas, xo

Weekend trip to the Queen City

We spent last weekend in Charlotte. We had never been before so we thought it would be a fun weekend trip to get away and shop.

Skyline shots of Uptown

It was our first time at Ikea and it was great...overwhelming and tiring but great!

Lots of good shopping!

We also went to Billy Graham's Library and it was the 1st night of 'Christmas at the Library'. Everything was decorated beautifully.

Going inside the Library.

On Sunday we went to Stephen Furtick's Elevation Church. . .

And then had brunch at The Original Pancake House.
I wish I had these pumpkin pecan pancakes in front of me now!

It was a great weekend and we loved exploring another new city.

The outside is finally finished!

It's Christmas Time Again

It's already time for Christmas, I can't believe it! It really is the best time of year (well Christmas time and summer of course! ha!)...I love the meaning, giving, the decorations, people's attitudes, parties, music, the smells, and all the homemade yummy treats.

Here is a look at our decor:

I love how cozy our house is this time of year!

(I'm not sure why our blinds are closed in this pic...we do keep them open! :)

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care. . .

This feather tree is one of my favorite decorations:

'tis the season to be merry!

I am thankful for {Salvation | my husband | our families and that they live in the same place so we never have to decide where we are spending the holidays | our fur-kids | amazing friends | health | my jobs} I could seriously go on and on. . .

Speaking of family, we got to meet the newest member of our family -- Liam Reed Eskridge.
He is absolutely beautiful, I was in love!

Joe had the idea to get all my cousins together on my mom's side to do a family picture. The last time we did this was back in 2006 and we've added two more since then! I am framing this picture and giving it to Pop Ed and Annette as part of their Christmas gift. When we were taking these photos I couldn't help but think that Mom-mom Henrietta was looking down smiling on all of us. She loved this time of year and so much still reminds me of her!

And while we were at it, I figured Nan and Pop would love to have one of me and Jonathon. We haven't had a nice picture together since my Senior year in High School. This picture was taken on Wallace's Road back home :)

And I had to snap a pic of Joe & I on Thanksgiving Day. We ate dinner with my family and had dessert and coffee with his.

Now it's time to get ready for Christmas! We finished decorating inside last night (pics to come soon!) and Joe is outside as I type finishing up the outside. We leave Friday for a weekend in Charlotte, NC and I am looking forward to quality time with Joe and good shopping!

This year I haven't really been in the mood for fall. For one, it has been a super busy fall. And number 2, it's still 80 degrees out and I am holding on to Summer as long as I can. However, even though it's still so hot out, it's starting to look like fall. . .

Nails, Nails, Nails

Oh how I'm loving me some polish these days. It's so fun and I love pairing up different shades and colors! Here are a few of my favorite creations:

Essie 'A Crewed Interest' & Maybelline Color Show 'Bold Gold'

Essie 'Ole Caliente' and polka dots Essie 'Marshmallow'

OPI 'Moon Over Mumbai' and accent nail OPI 'Crown Me Already!'
(this one is my favorite)

From OPI's Germany line 'Berlin There Done That'
The perfect fall color!

'Moon Over Mumbai' & accent nail 'Berlin There Done That'

My favorite brands of polish would have to be OPI & Essie (and occasionally China Glaze). Great formulas and amazing colors, oh the colors. I have to control myself but I just discovered that Amazon has polishes for cheaper (typically $2-$3 cheaper). Score!

Football is Here

And this weekend has been jammed packed with football. Saturday was Liberty's 1st home game of the season. We lost, but we will skip over that fact quickly.

The game starting:

Take a look at this sunset -- it was beautiful and the perfect weather!

And I couldn't help but snap a picture of this cutie. I have no idea who she is but has to be the cutest little Flames fan ever.

Sunday we had friends over to celebrate the first football Sunday and stuffed ourselves with good food. We continue the celebration tonight with the Ravens/Bengals game....Go Ravens!
