Christmas Day

Christmas Eve is always a busy day/night. We start off with dinner, followed by Church, and then we go to Joe's house to open presents with his whole family. We then go to my house and open a few presents (we save the majority for Christmas morning). My favorite tradition of all is going to my Aunt and Uncle's house around 11 p.m. and we are there visiting until around 2 a.m.

Candlelight service at Church.

The pups on Christmas Eve with 'It's a Wonderful Life' playing in the background.

Christmas Morning

My favorite things included: Hunter Rain Boots, Lush bath bombs (a must), and my TOMS wedges. Joseph gave me two sweaters from Lauren Conrad's line at Kohl's, a pink Baltimore Ravens t-shirt, my Lush and a bunch of other goodies.

I can't wait for rainy weather! :)

Christmas morning we have brunch with my whole family at my Aunt's house. Mom made this french toast casserole. It was really simple to make and delicious!

And I ended Christmas with my Father Christmas Lush bath bomb. It was a great end to the day!

We are so blessed to be from the same hometown, we love being able to see our whole family in one place.

Christmas Festivities

Merry Christmas!

This month we enjoyed a lot of hot chocolate..

Tons of sweets. We felt like we were reliving our childhood with these cookies..

A lot of shopping and wrapping.

And decorating! We had already packed up all the presents and loaded them into my car. We opted for a smaller tree this year since we have our house on the market.

I love all the festiveness that December brings and sad to see it go.
Bring on the Summer.

Christmas Wishlist + Ideas

It's that time, Christmas time is here. Everybody knows there's not a better time of year! Now I want to turn on National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and drink hot chocolate out of moose mugs (I don't like Egg Nog). Here's what's on my wish list and a few items that I'll be giving.

TOMS Desert Wedges - awesome shoes, even better mission.

Hunter Rain Boots -- I've been wanting these for years and I'll finally have them this Christmas! I decided on the 'short' style because the original Wellies are too tall for my short legs.

Lush -- the holiday line is drool worthy and so festive. I have my favorite Bath Bombs but always get their holiday items since it's only available one time a year.
I've also hooked my mom. I kept telling her to try them and when she didn't, I bought her five for Mother's Day. She's now obsessed.

My favorite (non-Christmas) bath bombs are: The Enchanter, Sex Bomb, Dragon's Egg, Butterball, and Honey Bee. Now go buy yourself 1, 2 or 10. You are welcome :)

Philosophy - amazing products and the perfect gift for that person who is always hard to shop for.
(i.e. grandmothers lol -- they have everything!)

Leen Jean Studios - My good friend Kathleen has her own stationary line and let me tell you, she is crazy talented. Everything she designs is gold. I've already snatched up several packs of these.
Also check out this and this. She's based in Lynchburg but ships anywhere!

Merry Christmas and happy shopping!

Weekend in Tennessee

Joseph's parents rented a cabin near Pigeon Forge and invited us to join them for a few days. It was amazing.

Our bedroom:

Our bathroom:

Hot tub on our balcony.

I could get use to this coffee spot.

The view

We went to the Titanic Museum, it was great!

And we went to the Dixie Stampede which was Christmas themed.

Our dinner -- and no utensils...I freaked out when they put this in front of me. I don't do so well with food that still looks like the animal. But I did eat it.

We had front row seats at the Stampede!
One of the cowgirls kissed a flower and threw it to Joe, haha!

Horseback riding through the Smokies.

And we also went ziplining!

I wanted to end the last line with a bang...

So I rode it upside down!

It was a great weekend and very relaxing. I would've been fine to stay at the cabin the whole weekend, it was that good. We hope to visit again in the future!

Our Weekend in Pictures {Fall Festivities}

This past weekend my parents came into town for a long weekend. We did a lot of fun fall activities. 1st stop Charlottesville for apple picking.
Carter Mountain Orchard was beautiful and full of apples.
A family picture in the orchard.
Me and Joe
Dad and Mom
Jonathon, hahaha
They are known for their apple cider donuts. Soooo good!
On Saturday we drove to Williamsburg to go to Busch Gardens. The main reason for going was to attend Howl-o-Scream but we also enjoyed the rides. It was the first time for a lot of us, we had a good time.
Dad enjoyed his time there too haha

Joe and I riding the Skyride
Howl-o-Scream was from 6-10pm, that's when the Haunted Houses started as well as scary zombies walking around the park with chain saws. It was freaky but so much fun.

On Sunday we had what I called a Busch Gardens hangover, so it called for a good hearty breakfast. This pumpkin butter was amazing, we picked up a jar at Carter Mountain.
It was a great visit with my parents and jam packed. I definitely need another day to recoup haha.

I'm really not a huge concert-goer. Don't get me wrong I love them, but it costs money. This year the two concerts I went to just happened to be less than a week apart. This concert = Taylor Swift and it was only an hour away to Charlottesville.

Saturday my friend Kristin and I had dinner at The Whiskey Jar and it was amazingggg. My mom asked, do they have food there? Yes mom, they do. Haha

Pulled pork on texas toast. Done!

On our way to JPJ Arena!

And there she is!

She changed outfits 11 times!

This was my 2nd time seeing Taylor and she was awesome again, such a great entertainer too!
Plus it was a great girl's night.
