16 Weeks

How far along: 16 Weeks
Gender: Don't know.
Weight Gain: 2 lbs.
Maternity clothes: No. But I did buy two maternity maxi dresses from Old Navy for $45! I figured since I'll be the biggest during the summer months, I might as well plan ahead a little.
Stretch marks: No.
Belly button in or out: In.
Sleep: Good.
Best moment of the week: I went to Roanoke and got to go in cute baby stores that we don't have in Lynchburg. I only got one thing, trying not to go overboard until we know boy or girl.
Miss anything: It's weird having to always have food available, if I skip a meal I get really weak and shaky. So that's not fun.
Movement: No.
Cravings: I'm really into fruit snacks and anything gummy/fruity.
Queasy or sick: No. And my back pain is gone -- maybe that means the baby moved??
Looking forward to: 70 degree weather ALL week!

12 Years

Happy 12 years my love...

{Circa May 2002}

I can't believe we are celebrating 12 years together today. Does time fly or what?! We've been through 4 years of long distance dating, coming up on 8 years of marriage, and now a baby on the way! So much change to come but I know we can conquer it all! Thank you for leading me, encouraging me to go for my dreams, for actually listening when I just need to talk, for taking me on dates and valuing quality time together, for putting up with my need to shop when you could go a year without buying anything, for caring about our finances and planning for our future, for loving me daily.

I am so blessed to call you my husband and soon to be baby daddy.

15 Weeks

How far along: 15 Weeks
Gender: Don't know.
Weight Gain: 2 lbs.
Maternity clothes: No.
Stretch marks: No. Applying Mustela like it's my job.
Belly button in or out: In.
Sleep: I'm starting to wake up one time a night. But still sleeping/napping good.
Best moment of the week: Joseph's mom has been sending presents and labeling the packages 'Baby Eskridge', it's so exciting to come home from work and see one at our door!
Miss anything: Not really.
Movement: I swear I felt movement last night when I was laying on my back. My Doctor told me 18-22 weeks is the norm. So who knows.
Cravings: Nothing really. I'm really enjoying fresh fruit from the local produce stands.
Queasy or sick: No. However I've been having lower back pain. But I'll take that over the nausea.
Looking forward to: Warmer weather, sandals, the beach. And we are expecting more snow on Tuesday, blah!

St. Patrick's Day

I've been dying to make green pancakes all weekend but kept holding out in hopes for a snow delay on Monday morning. Well, we only got an inch so no delay. Breakfast for dinner it is!

I don't know what it is but breakfast on a cold, rainy/snowy day is always appealing. So we had green pancakes, eggs, and home fries - yumo!

Hope everyone had a great holiday, I always love a reason to celebrate!

14 Weeks

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
First of all I can't believe how fast these weeks are flying by. From the beginning I said I didn't want to rush this pregnancy. I want it to take it's time, I want to enjoy it, I want to relax, and I want to spend a lot of time with Joseph -- traveling and going on spontaneous dates. I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune come July and August, haha.

We have started thinking about what we want for the nursery. We've decided against a theme. It will be a fun whimsical nursery with white furniture. We will decide more on colors once we know boy or girl. We have a list compiled of boy and girl names that we really like. But again, we will focus more on that once we know the gender. Oh! And the Babymoon is in the works, we are thinking about a nice relaxing week at the beach (probably Florida). And I'm pretty sure that will win. I mean come on, a relaxing week at the beach. Sold.

How far along: 14 Weeks
Gender: I talked to my doctor and she said that appointment will be scheduled between 20-22 weeks.
Weight Gain: Back to only 1 lb.
Maternity clothes: No.
Stretch marks: No.
Belly button in or out: In.
Sleep: Sleeping good.
Best moment of the week: We added a couple to our small group and we "clicked" really well. So that was exciting. Definitely looking forward to getting to know them better.
Miss anything: Not really.
Movement: No.
Cravings: I love cereal and have up to two bowls a day.
Queasy or sick: It's basically nonexistent at this point.
Looking forward to: I've been planning a military family day and it's this week. So that's always fun.
-------------------------------
Also I thought I'd add in the two most commonly asked questions:
1. Where you trying or was this an oops?
Why do people ask this?? Honestly, it's none of your dang business. I simply reply with: "you realize how long we've been married right? Yes, this was planned."
2. Have you bought any maternity clothes?
And I reply with: "No. I've gained 1 pound, I don't need maternity clothes yet." And then to make people feel super awkward I say, "Why, do I look like I need maternity clothes?!" Yup I'm that person haha.

So random but I seriously get asked these questions almost daily.

10-12 Weeks

How far along: 10 weeks
Gender: Have no idea but I keep calling the baby a “he”. We will be finding out when we are able.
Weight Gain: 1 lb.
Maternity clothes: No. I have a lot of maxi dresses/skirts and flowy tops, so it will probably be a while before I need them.
Stretch marks: No.
Belly button in or out: In.
Sleep: I sleep like a rock. It hasn't interrupted anything yet.
Best moment of the week: Getting to hear our baby’s heartbeat and watching the little bambino move around.
Miss anything: I miss feeling normal. It’s not fun waking up feeling sick and it carrying into the afternoon, especially with working. I’m thankful that I start to feel better after lunch but then it hits again at night. Come on second trimester!
Movement: No.
Cravings: Everything with peanut butter -- apples, banana, pancakes, etc.
Queasy or sick: Oh heck yes. It sucks.
Looking forward to: I ordered my 1st baby item: infant Minnetonka Moccasins, so getting them in the mail!

How far along: 11 weeks
Gender: Don’t know yet!
Weight Gain: 1 lb.
Maternity clothes: No.
Stretch marks: No.
Belly button in or out: In.
Sleep: Still sleeping like a rock. And I take naps like a champ!
Best moment of the week: Starting to plan what we want to do with the nursery and looking at baby clothes is fun. But all the gender neutral clothes suck. So we will be waiting until we know.
Miss anything: Two words: strawberry margarita, haha! Oh and being able to brush my teeth without gagging. I feel like a negative Nancy! hahaha
Movement: No.
Cravings: French fries.
Queasy or sick: Yes…still. The 2nd trimester is SO close.
Looking forward to: Can I say, my next meal? Even with nausea it's crazy how the taste of food has changed. It's so delicious!

How far along: 12 weeks
Gender: Don’t know yet!
Weight Gain: Lost 1 lb. (go figure)
Maternity clothes: No.
Stretch marks: No.
Belly button in or out: In.
Sleep: Sleep is still wonderful.
Best moment of the week: Announcing to our Lynchburg family!
Miss anything: No, not this week.
Movement: No.
Cravings: Ummm, nothing in particular. I'm really looking forward to spring and all the yummy fruit!
Queasy or sick: Still dealing with nausea but it's getting a lot better! Hallelujah!
Looking forward to: Finally going home to TELL EVERYONE!

Oh Baby!

The cat is finally out of the bag -- a little Eskridge is on the way! I'm 13 weeks and due September 12th.

We traveled home this weekend to tell our family and friends. We are very excited {and nervous}.

A lot of weekly chalkboards to come!

This is the 5 week "bump" shot, we had just found out and didn't know the exact due date. Stay tuned for weeks 10-13! Oh and feel free to say a prayer for us :)
