38 Weeks

How far along: 38 weeks
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: Still at 21 lbs.
Maternity clothes: A mix of regular and maternity, more maternity at this point. This kimono isn't maternity but hey I'm almost done! Helloooo cute fall clothes!
Stretch marks: A few.
Belly button in or out: In/out. My belly button still hasn't fully popped.
Sleep: I actually slept in until 10 one morning! Joseph almost came in to see if I was still breathing hahaha.
Best moment of the week: A four day weekend! Oh and our friends moved back to Lynchburg!
Miss anything: Being active.
Movement: Yes, just not as much. Poor kid has no room.
Cravings: Nothing.
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good but a lot of cramping and pressure.
Looking forward to: This pregnancy ending, nine months is a long time. This is also my last week of work, I'm looking forward to time off!

37 Weeks

How far along: 37 weeks
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: 21 lbs.
Maternity clothes: A mix of regular and maternity, more maternity at this point. Honestly I'm wearing the same 4-6 outfits over and over.
Stretch marks: Two have popped out on my lower belly. Ugh
Belly button in or out: In/out
Sleep: Good. I've never had a problem with her kicks keeping me up.
Best moment of the week: The Pumpkin Spice Latte is now available at Starbucks. So good! We also took our 1st hospital class (all about breast feeding) which was very overwhelming. I'm glad we went though, I definitely learned a lot.
Miss anything: I'm always hot now, which is not normal. I'll be glad when my body adjusts back.
Movement: Yes but not as much these days. She definitely still moves just not as intense.
Cravings: Iced coffee. Really anything iced. Oh and my recent snack obsession: a whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter and honey. Amazing!
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good besides my lower back but I expect that this late in the game. My body gets tired so easily and that's hard to accept. Especially when all I want to do is clean. I don't really have an appetite anymore, so I literally have to remind myself to eat.
Looking forward to: A 4-day weekend!

My Final Baby Shower

On Saturday I had my final baby shower, this whole season of life has been so much fun and it's almost over. I have to say I'm ready for the next chapter! My friend Kathleen is a great entertainer (it's one of her many talents), so I was excited when she offered to host my Lynchburg shower. Every detail was perfect and thought out. It was a beautiful day.

The cake and it was just as good as it looks!

The best beverage station with Golf Park Cold Brew Coffee and pink Izze Sparkling Juice.

The hostess with the mostest cutting the cake!

I was awful at this game haha

Lindt Chocolate Bar favors with a special touch from Kathleen :)

My friend Libby who is due with her first baby boy in November.

My friend Sierra who is due with her second any day now!

Harlow seriously has the best library.

All the cute gifts!

Kathleen, than you again for a wonderful shower. I left your home feeling loved and overjoyed.

Joseph and I have been so blessed by family and friends and we are so thankful to have each of you in our lives.

Last month I shared with you a few sneak peaks of our maternity session (see it here). I was so excited when I came into work this morning and had more sitting in my inbox.

Again, a huge thanks to Libby. She is amazing at what she does and made us feel comfortable!

36 Weeks

How far along: 36 weeks
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: Still at 21 lbs.
Maternity clothes: A mix of regular and maternity.
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In/out, still hasn't fully popped but it's almost there.
Sleep: Sleep is good. Waking up 2x but falling back to sleep is never an issue.
Best moment of the week: Purged (made $200 this weekend on stuff we didn't need) and nested! Wow, that feels good. I'm also seeing my midwife every week until I go into labor. I also decided that my last day at work is Sept. 5th. It's nice to finally have an end date and if I go all the way until my due date, I'll have a whole week off before she comes!
Miss anything: I know I'll miss it when it's over but I'm ready to feel skinny again. And I want to wear my skinny jeans and high heels.
Movement: Yes in weird places.
Cravings: Nothing. Although I did go through the bakery aisle at Walmart and wanted to buy every cupcake and pastry on display. I was strong and resisted the urge, haha.
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good besides having a dizzy head the last 3 mornings. My midwife told me to increase my protein before bed. Helloooo peanut butter. I'm also beginning to have more intense pains, I guess my body is getting ready. I had major pains Friday evening so Joe made me start "packing" for the hospital. Packing consisted of: 4 outfits, a headband to match each outfit, and hats :)
Looking forward to: I said this in my last post but finishing the nursery. The rug we ordered came today so we lack a dresser and hanging a few more things on the wall.

Pt. 1 House Tour: Master Bedroom

Welcome to the 1st room tour of our new home. I feel like at the rate I'm going this house tour is going to take forever because I want everything perfect. Yea I'm slightly anal.

Hallway shot with the master at the end...

To do:
-Find a second night stand
-Find a rug
-Paint...eventually. Right now I'm actually enjoying the white walls.

I love having two windows, it lets in so much natural light.

Walk in closet:

Master bath:

I was a little worried that our bathroom had a stand up shower because I'm a bath girl. But it hasn't been bad at all. Maybe because it has a built in seat, haha.

Next up is the nursery tour.

Nursery Curtains

I've always looked forward to the day I could decorate a nursery. I love decorating and finding different pieces and then bringing it all together. I originally saw pom pom curtains from Pottery Barn Kids and I knew they were it. Downside was, they were $50 a panel and I just couldn't swallow $100 for two sheer panels. So I got my DIY on and made them myself!

I already had two sheer white panels that I purchased from Walmart 3 years ago. I bleached and washed them and they were as good as new.

I went to my local fabric store and purchased pink pom pons.

Here is where it gets easy...I didn't use a sewing machine, I hot glued the pom poms on! I simply lined up the edges of the curtain to the backing of the pom poms and that was it!

So easy and the only cost was for the pom poms, which ended up being close to $20. So I saved $80!

And here they are hanging in the nursery. I love how they turned out.

35 Weeks

How far along: 35 weeks
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: 21 lbs.
Maternity clothes: A mix of regular and maternity.
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In/out, it still hasn't fully popped but it's looking weird.
Sleep: Sleep is fine. Her moving never wakes me up but my bladder does.
Best moment of the week: Had my last pregnant wedding (now she can come any time!) but the best of all, it's a super chill week. I feel like we've been going 100 mph since early June. So it will be nice to take it easy this last month.
Miss anything: Shaving without feeling like I've ran a marathon, haha!
Movement: Yes and a lot of hiccups lately.
Cravings: Nothing.
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good. Starting to get more and more ready. Not ready for the birth part. Ready to meet our girl.
Looking forward to: Finishing up the nursery. We still need a dresser and maybe I can convince Joe that she needs a chandelier light fixture in her room ;)

34 Weeks

How far along: 34 weeks
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: 21 lbs.
Maternity clothes: A mix of regular and maternity.
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Waking up more frequently now, usually 2-3 times a night.
Best moment of the week: Met my family in Ocean City, MD for the weekend and basically finished up the nursery. We just have a few more key pieces to add but it looks awesome!
Miss anything: I miss feeling "normal." I know I will continue to become even more miserable as the next 6 weeks comes. But she's totally worth it. I must note that I've had a great pregnancy, so I feel bad complaining too much.
Movement: Yes, she may be 5 lbs. but this girl is strong.
Cravings: Nothing, just eating the normal foods I ate before.
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good, just miserable. And I feel massive haha.
Looking forward to: I have my last wedding of the summer this weekend. Bittersweet but it will be a nice break. Plus I only have 5 weekends left until my due date, I need weekends to NEST! haha

The Last Hoorah

We spent the weekend with my family in Ocean City, MD. It went by too fast but we all had a great time together. It's funny how Joe and I find ourselves saying, "this is the last time we do this without Harlow" or "this may be the last time we eat here kid-less" all the time now. It's getting real, we are 5 1/2 weeks away from my due date. So this trip was our last official hoorah before she comes!

I ate really good this weekend. You can't leave OC without getting Thrasher's French Fries or a big tub of Dolle's caramel popcorn or a caramel apple covered in peanuts or salt water taffy. Yeaaaa

While we were dating we would get these b&w photo booth pictures every summer. So this was on the "must do" list.

And yes I'm saying it...Miss Harlow will be in the next photo booth picture ;)

Sunday morning was beautiful!

So we took advantage of it and headed to the beach. The guys had a blast boogie boarding in the surf and it quickly turned into a competition.

Relaxing before going in for a swim. I love getting to spend quality time with my aunts. The next time I see them will be Thanksgiving :(

So many "lasts" with my "firsts" to come!
