Life Lately...

...has been busy! Here's a recap of the past few weeks.

We were excited to welcome November, bring on the holidays!

We've been working on our neck strength with our SkipHop Activity Mat. Not quite ready for the Bumbo yet.

We traveled to Virginia Beach (with Harlow) for my best friend's wedding.

Joseph's parents came to babysit Harlow so we could have a fun kid-free night. It didn't take a lot to convince them to come, ha!

Out celebrating the night before the wedding!

Isn't Whitney a beautiful bride!

So happy for her!

It was so nice getting out of sweats and actually getting all dressed up.

On the way home we stopped in Richmond to meet my friend Sierra's newest addition, Jack.
Harlow and Jack are 9 days apart!

Harlow met the crew in Military Affairs.

I had my 1st wedding since having Harlow. Felt so good!

Our friends, Kathleen and Andrew, hosted Friendsgiving.

She is a great hostess.

Thanksgiving food is the BEST!

And I'm still having the best time dressing up this little lady :)

2 Months

Weight: 11 lbs. 8 oz. (53rd percentile)

Length: 23.5 (82nd percentile)

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Size 1 diapers and wearing 0-3 and 3 month clothing. She can still fit in newborn shoes.

Eyes: Blue

Hair: It was black when she was born but it has really lightened up. She rubbed off some hair and it's coming back in blonde. She has blonde eyebrows and eyelashes, so we think she will be a blondie.

Sleeping: She has really good nights where she will sleep a 5 hour stretch but the next night she will go back to waking up every 3 hours. I prefer the 5 hours stretches.

Eating: She eats every 3 hours (longer periods during the night or if napping) and drinks a total of 4 oz.

Milestones: Smiling all the time. Found her tongue and sticks it out when smiling. Very expressive with her eyebrows. Coos and tries to talk back. She's very alert and really focuses in on faces and objects. Starting to gain more neck strength.

Memorable Outings: Pumpkin patch. She went with me to vote at the polls. And our biggest outing yet, we went to Virginia Beach this weekend. This was her 1st long car ride and she did great! She slept most of the whole drive -- she woke up 15 minutes before arriving to our hotel. I climbed in the back seat and kept her calm while she had a major blow out. We had to change her whole outfit haha.

Loves: Her Wubbanub, RockaRoo, bath time, music, and snuggling. She also loves her mama, sometimes it takes my special touch to get her to calm down ;)

Hates: Not a huge fan of her carseat but calms down once the car or stroller is moving.

Words/Sounds: Coos and "agoo."

Nicknames: Harley, Lo, stinky head.

Funny Moments: She burps like a grown man, which always makes us laugh.

At her 2 month appointment, comforting her before shots :(

Halloween

Can I just say how fun it is having a kid during the holidays. I can only imagine how exciting it will be once Harlow is walking and talking.

We celebrated Harlow's 1st Halloween this weekend. Isn't she the cutest Minnie Mouse you ever did see?

Once I found her costume I knew we had to have a family theme, after all it was her 1st Halloween. Our costumes were super cheap, most of it we already owned, and Harlow's was on clearance at Target because I found it two days before Halloween. I got the rest of our costume at Michaels: the red bow for my hair, black felt for our mouse ears, and I found the red tulle skirt at Walmart. The red bow didn't have polka dots, so I used a white stamp pad and a round eraser to make them.  For Minnie's ears, I hot glued the black felt and bow to a black headband and for Mickey I used safety pins and beanie. I bought a square of the super thick felt which helped the ears to stay up, and they did the entire night.

I still can't believe I convinced Joseph to be Mickey.

Obviously we didn't take Harlow trick or treating, so we dressed up and handed out candy at our house. We changed our outside lights to orange and lined our walkway with orange string lights. The kids kept saying "I love your lights!" We didn't have trick or treaters in our previous neighborhood due to living in an older community. So it was fun experiencing a true Halloween.

Joseph did a great job carving our pumpkin, he did this last minute.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! I can't believe it's already November, it's time to start Christmas shopping!
