2014 in Review

2014 was definitely a good year. Here's a look back.
January started off with a bang, we sold our 1st home...
And found out we were expecting!

Joseph was baptized by our good friend Kevin.

We had a gender reveal party to find out if Baby E was a boy or girl!

To our surprise our baby was a GIRL!

Joe turned 30.

We celebrated our 8th year of marriage!

We bought our 2nd home in June.

We babymooned in Virginia Beach.

And OBX.

Our friend Libby captured my pregnancy.

We spent the weekend in Ocean City, MD with my family.

Made room for our baby girl.

Became a family of 3.

Quit my full time Monday-Friday job so I could be home during the week with Harlow. This meant that I could take on more weddings!

Our 1st family themed Halloween.

Enjoyed the holidays with our bebe.

2015, you have a lot to compete with.

Christmas 2014

We had so much fun celebrating Harlow's 1st Christmas. She had no clue what was going on, so it was really more fun for us. Before leaving for dinner, Harlow opened her 1st gift from Uncle J. It was a Chesapeake Bay bracelet with her name engraved inside.

Christmas Eve is always very busy -- 1st we had dinner at Joseph's house.

Then we attended the Candle Light service. She slept through the entire service.

After that, we went back to Joseph's parent's house to open and exchange gifts.

How cute are these Christmas jams!

We end Christmas Eve night by visiting my Aunt and Uncle. My cousins are young and always get fun gadgets, so we hang out there until the early morning. I finally got in bed at 3 a.m.

Christmas morning: Harlow checking out what Santa brought. Even though Santa didn't have to bring anything because she got enough from her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

My mom and dad gave Harlow her very own rocking chair.

After opening gifts we went back to my aunt and uncle's house for our annual Christmas morning brunch. We spent the rest of the day visiting family, wouldn't have it any other way! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Harlow's Christmas

I have had the hardest time coming up with ideas for Harlow's Christmas. What the heck are you supposed to give a 3 month old?? So this is what I come up with. Simple, but some of my favorite small shops!

Kind of going with the whole theme of: want, need, wear, read.

And I can't forget to include her Christmas Eve outfit! I purchased the headband 1st and found a dress that complimented it. I'm dying over that faux fur shrug!

This Saturday we head back home to be with family. Can't wait to celebrate her 1st Christmas!

3 Months

Weight: 13 lbs.*

Length: 24.5 inches*
*Her next appointment isn't until 4 months, so this was done by me :)

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Size 1 diapers and wearing 3/6 and 6 month clothing. It makes me sad that she has outgrown all of her cute 0-3 and 3 month clothing. She's so dang long! She can still fit in newborn shoes -- she has the tiniest feet!

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Still black in some places but the "new hair" is blonde.

Sleeping: She's sleeping great at night! Averaging an eight hour stretch which has her waking up between 4 and 6 a.m. and then she goes back until 8-ish. She has 2-3 good naps during the day.

Eating: During the day she eats every 3-4 hours. At night she goes eight hours! Drinks a total of 4.5 oz.

Milestones: A lot of milestones this month so here we go... We finally got a giggle out of her!! Talks all the time and very aware of her surroundings. She knows how to use her hands -- whenever her pacifier falls out she can put it back in. During tummy time she uses her arms to lift her upper body off the mat. Almost rolling over, her arm gets in the way and she hasn't figured that out yet. She also locks her legs, so if she's laying down I lift her up using her arms and she completely controls her neck and stands up straight. She has also learned to "smack" her lips after watching me do it. It's hilarious. Oh and I can't forget the fake cough.

Memorable Outings: We traveled to Tangier for the 1st time for Thanksgiving -- 6 hour car ride and a 45 minute boat ride! We also got her 1st Christmas tree, she sat on Santa's lap, and we rode around to see the Christmas lights.

Loves: the Baby channel. Whenever I need to start dinner or do some cleaning I put her in the RockaRoo and turn on the baby channel. She loves it so much that I have to put a bib on her because she drools uncontrollably.  She also loves a blanket up over her head when I'm rocking her to sleep.

Hates: Her crib, ugh. When I clean her nose.

Words/Sounds: Lots of baby talk (agoo and babbles) and squealing when she gets wound up. She loves to do the fake cough.

Nicknames: Harley, Lo, stinky head.

Funny Moments: I died laughing when she giggled for the 1st time. Bath time is also hilarious because she gets excited and kicks/wiggles all around.

Deck the Halls

We've decked the halls which makes us even more excited to celebrate the Christmas season!

I really miss having a fireplace and a mantel, but we made do.

It's amazing how a tree makes your home 100x cozier.

The star cracks me up. We keep straightening it and it eventually leans over again. So it's staying.

I've been obsessing over this bar cart for a year now and my mom and dad gave it to me for Christmas. I'm not a fan of giving or receiving gifts early but we definitely won't have room to bring it back after Christmas. So that's why I have it early, so it's decorated for Christmas :)

Merry Christmas!

Bring on the Festiveness!

We love Christmas around here. So almost every day leading up to Christmas is filled with Christmas movies (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Elf are our faves), decorating, parties, riding through different neighborhoods to see the lights, and eating yummy treats.

As soon as we got back in town from being away for Thanksgiving, we wasted no time and picked out our tree. I would've totally put it up before Thanksgiving but we get a real one, and they weren't out yet.

Harlow and her 1st Christmas tree. I love all her firsts!

And here it is all decorated. Can you spy our elf? Obviously she is way to young to start this fun tradition but my mom insisted on her having one. So she sits in the tree for now.

Harlow watching A Charlie Brown Christmas.
She was a fan, see her little feet kicking?

She has also been enjoying all her Christmas books. It's amazing how observant she is at almost 3 months old.

I love changing out her book shelves with seasonal books. Plus it makes her room so festive.
Also love the plush Elf on the Shelf and the homemade stocking made by her great-great aunt.

I can't wait to get Harlow her own little tree for her room and have her decorate it how she wants. Tis the season!

Thanksgiving 2014

Like most holidays we traveled back home for Thanksgiving, Harlow's 1st time. She was a champ with traveling!

My dad always makes sure I have my favorite, steamed crabs!

My mom hosted Thanksgiving this year with her side of the family. How cute are those hand turkey name tags made by two younger cousins, Kylee and Emilee.

Harlow got to meet all of her great grandparents.

We were missing Jeremy this year because he is currently in Navy basic training in Chicago (he graduates this Friday!!). Due to it being thanksgiving they were given six 15 minute phone calls, so he called and got to talk to everyone!

We ended the evening at Joseph's aunt's house and Harlow got to meet the rest of her cousins.

It was so fun introducing Harlow to the rest of the family. We can't wait to come back in just a few weeks for Christmas.
