Halloween Weekend

On the Friday before Halloween I had a little pumpkin painting party for Harlow and some of her friends.

They had so much fun!

On Sunday we headed to Layman Family Farms. This is one of the well known places in the area but Harlow was too young last year. I was really looking forward to finally being able to take her and the place did not disappoint. They had everything for kids (and fun for adults too), no wonder every one goes there!

Harlow LOVES pigs.

We took a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch.

It was also nice having family in town and being able to bring them along!

Halloween 2016

Can I just say kids make holidays 10x better. I decided back in July what we would be for Halloween. I like time to think about what we'll need and what we already have to make our costumes. This year was so easy, we had everything besides the Dorothy dress/shoes and I needed a crown. Everything else was what we already owned.

I bought this grizzly bear hat for Oliver last winter and it made the perfect Toto!

Toto's 1st Halloween.

I was turning Dorothy's shoes into ruby slippers :)

Last year we went to homes closest to ours. This year we hit up multiple streets and Harlow caught on fast. We had been practicing "trick or treat" all week.

She literally just asked me, "Trick or Treat? Dorothy dress on and Oli Toto." I don't have the heart to tell her she has to wait another year.

Our October

Oliver's 1st time at Morris Orchard. This was also Harlow's 1st Orchard that she ever visited.

Auntie Alison came to visit from Atlanta!

We love when Grammy and Pop visit!

Yoders' Farm.

Bring on Halloween weekend! I have a little get together planned for Friday morning to start off Halloween weekend: we'll be painting pumpkins with some of Harlow's friends. Harlow has been practicing saying "trick or treat" and is ready to dress up as Dorothy.

Oliver: 6 months

It's crazy to say we have a 6 month old!

Weight: 18 lbs. 12 oz. (74th percentile)
Height: 26.5 inches (44th percentile)

Size: 3 diapers. Wearing 6 and 6/9 months.

Looks: Dad and Harlow.

Eyes: Blue.

Hair: So much blonde!

Sleeping: Ugh, sleeping hasn't been the best this month. He's had a cold 2x and that has thrown his schedule off. He still goes down between 7/7:30 but he's been waking up between 11 and midnight and then again at 2 and 4 a.m. I'm ready for good sleep again!

Eating: Every 4/4.5 hours. I only nurse in the morning and night and he gets formula the rest of the time. I introduced him to food. At first I had to mix everything in his oatmeal but he's now eating squash, prunes, and sweet potatoes.

Milestones: Doing really well with sitting up. Still wobbly but he's getting there. Becoming more chatty.

Memorable Outings: Pumpkin Patch. Traveled back to back weekends to the shore (wedding and my 10 year HS reunion) and was an awesome traveler.

Loves: his sister (they both love each other so much) and when she interacts with him, jumperoo, the bath, nap time/bedtime, food, music, his plush book, his hedgehog lovey.

Hates: being hungry, when I take him out the bath and get him dressed, cleaning his nose, and putting a bib on him.

Words/Sounds: coos/agoo, a lot of babble, and mama.

Nicknames: Oli, Oli boy, bubs/bubba.

Happy 6 months Oliver!

Oliver: 5 months

Weight: 17 lbs.

Size: 3 diapers. Wearing 3/6 and 6 months.

Looks: Dad and Harlow.

Eyes: Blue.

Hair: So much blonde!

Sleeping: We hit a little sleep regression just after the 4 month mark, so he's waking up around midnight and then again between 4-6 a.m. (boo). Still takes 3 good naps a day and goes to bed by 7:30.

Eating: Every 4 hours. I nurse him and supplement with formula. So he's drinking between 5 and 6 oz. a feeding. We will start food within the week.

Milestones: Rolling back to belly, found his feet, holds his bottle, started going to our church nursery, and he totally says mama when he's crying and hangry.

Memorable Outings: Celebrated his sister's 2nd birthday.

Loves: his sister (they both love each other so much) and when she interacts with him, jumperoo, the bath, nap time/bedtime, food, music.

Nicknames: Oli, Oli boy, bubs/bubba.

We have a two year old!
Harlow is such a fun little girl and gets excited over things. She had a Minnie party and would say "Minnie pawdy woohoo!!" It makes doing things for her and with her so fun. She is so smart, it amazes me daily what she knows and absorbs. Sometimes I wonder how she learned something, she's like a sponge.

Weight: 28 lbs. (82nd percentile)
Height: 35 inches (79th percentile)

Size: 5 diapers and 2t clothing.

Eyes: Blue.

Hair: Dirty blonde and long.

Sleeping: Sleeps from 7:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. and one good nap a day. Still a great sleeper!

Eating: Still loves food.
Favorite foods: favorite foods remain the same for the most part: squeeze fruit pouches, pickles, cucumber, avocado, basically all fruits (apples, bananas, clementines, kiwi, berries, pomegranate), carrots, celery, yogurt, pasta, rice, lunch meat (turkey/ham), fajita chicken with avocado, chocolate milk, Annie's cheddar bunnies.

Harlow's 2nd Birthday

Harlow loves Minnie, so when it came time to decide a theme for her party, she picked Minnie. I wasn't thrilled (I wanted a mermaid party) but as soon as I found this outfit I was ready to start planning. I had a lot of this stuff on hand because her 1st birthday was pink and gold themed. I used a black and white blanket as the table runner and picked up pink and black balloons the night before.

Her party was at 11 so we went with a brunch theme: quiche, waffles, fruit, and mimosas.

I made the 'two' banner out of card stock and some bakers twine that I already had. I cut out the gold minnie heads using a Mickey hole punch and glued them to the paper straws. Side note about the silver balloon: it was supposed to be gold. They didn't have gold. They said but we have pink. They didn't have pink either. So silver it was.

How cute was her cake?!

Favors for the kids: birthday cake popcorn and Minnie and Mickey ears.

Her candle was a '2' sparkler.

Some of the kids.

I setup a little Photo Booth outside with props that I had and then bought a few extra from the Dollar Store.

She loved her little apron.

Going to bed as a 1 year old for the LAST time!

We had Harlow's party on Saturday but still wanted Monday to be special. Harlow loves donuts, so I picked up some Dunkin' Donuts with pink icing and sprinkles to have as her birthday breakfast. Later that evening we went to Mexican because her favorite thing to get is rice and cheese dip. When our waitress came to the table she said "rice! cheese dip!" haha

Harlow was SO excited about this party. When my mom and dad got into town Friday night she ran out to them and gave them the biggest hug. She then started jumping up and down saying "Minnie party!! woo-hoo!" Seeing her excitement was worth it all.
