Spring Family Pictures

I always go into family pictures with my hopes low...And it's not because I don't trust the photographer. I don't trust my kids, lol. So one of my favorite local photographers was having spring mini sessions and my 1st thought was 20 minutes is the perfect time frame before Harlow is DONE. I am so, so happy with how they turned out. I was BLOWN away. Lindsey Hinkley did our newborn pictures and she works magic. She is so amazing with kids and got Harlow to warm up to her instantly. So if you're in the area, BOOK HER!

I'll cherish these forever.

Easter 2017

We spent Easter weekend on Tangier and it was a packed weekend full of parties, family, and a lot of food.

It was Harlow's 1st official Easter egg hunt (last year she was still a little too young to fully grasp it) and she grabbed one piece of candy and was totally fine with just the one piece. I had to say, "keep going!"

I always love finding cute little things to fill Easter baskets. I will say, it's a lot easier finding cute things for little girls: necklaces, bracelets, handmade dolls, etc.

(also a chocolate Poppy (Trolls), not pictured because she had already broke into it)

I loved this little vintage one piece and knee socks that Oliver wore. I thought
it was very fitting for his 1st Easter. And this white eyelet dress (from the Beauty & the Beast line at Target) complimented it so well. I always like to coordinate them, I can't imagine how bad it would be if I had two girls, lol.

My mom cooked Easter dinner on Saturday and Joe's family had an Easter brunch. So it was nice that we got to enjoy both and didn't have to choose one over the other. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter sunday.

Oliver's Wild ONE Birthday

I was so happy that we were able to celebrate Oliver's 1st birthday on Tangier with all of our family. We did this with Harlow and it was so special to be able to spend her first birthday surrounded by all her family. My hope was that we would be able to do that for all of our kids. Thankfully Oliver's party day ended up on Easter weekend, so we were able to go home for it and spend Easter with our family!

We had a small party for our closest friends in Lynchburg on his actual birthday, April 18th. I love how it turned out. I kept it simple on the decor and had cake and lemonade.

He smashed two cakes and didn't like either. Poor bud just isn't used to sugar, haha.

And the party was clearly outside...The kids had so much fun out here and it was the perfect evening!

Valentine's Day '17

We love holidays in this house...go big or go home, right? So to kick off Valentine's Day Joe took Harlow on a special dad/daughter date. He surprised her with the new Trolls movie and then took her to Chickfila. She was so excited. All day she would say "Go on a date with dad. We eat!"

Joe and I don't typically do huge gifts for Valentine's Day. It's usually a night out with good food and some flowers...maybe a movie. And I always make him a red velvet cake.

All ready for the kids :)

Harlow was so excited, especially over the balloons.

Harlow opened her mailbox and she had a cute little ballerina mouse, a Poppy (Trolls) marshmallow pop, and Nemo/Dory gummies.

Oliver had a cute book (which happened to be called Ollie's Valentine) and some new bath toys.

I spent a great day at home with the kids making heart shaped foods and watching Trolls and then got to spend the night out with Joe. The best of both worlds!
